Below is a listing of events that the SCCV hosts for our club members and the general public.

Click the "More Info" after the event titles for more specific details about each event.

The SCCV is dedicated to hosting fun, safe, driving events for our membership and the general public to enjoy. Any persons driving in an unsafe manor will be removed from the event without a refund. We emphasize safe driving at and away from our events.

Our events are open to drivers age 16 and older with a valid driver's license. Drivers under the age of 18 are required to have a Parental Consent / Minor Release form signed by their parents. These are available at the events.

Autocross (More info)

Autocross is an inexpensive and safe way to participate in competitive motorsports. In general, any safe, street legal vehicle can compete without any significant modifications. The Classing system attempts to keep cars of similar capabilities in the same class. However, driver skill is emphisized more than car capability.  A seasoned driver in a lesser car can have an advantage over a less seasoned driver in a more capable car.

Autocross and Solo II events are "Time Trial" style competitions; there is no wheel to wheel racing involved, as cars are sent out one at a time, or at least spaced out so that they should not come into any contact with each other.

In general, a course is laid out using traffic cones; time penalties will charged for disturbing cones. For most clubs the penalty is 2 seconds per cone, although for some it may be 1 second.

Ice Time Trial (ITT) (More info)

Ice Time Trial, an autocross on ice.  Every year when the subfreezing temperatures freeze the lake enough for safe driving, the SCCV joins the masses of ice fisherman out on the frozen lakes in the region.  However, we are not there to fish.

The SCCV holds as many ITTs as mother nature permits, as soon as she permits.  On average, our first ITT event is usually the first weekend in February and runs as long as there is "safe" ice.

Hillclimb (More info)

Hillclimbs, a time trial up a twisty, narrow, steep mountain road. The SCCV hosts the Mt. Philo Hillclimb every October and the Bolton Valley Hillclimb when sheduling permits.

The SCCV also participates in several other Hillclimbs with the New England Hillclimb Association(NEHA).  NEHA consists of three clubs, Killington Sports Car Club(KSCC),
Sports Car Club of New Hampshire (SCCNH), and Sports Car Club of Vermont(SCCV).

Performance Car Show (More info)

Every year the SCCV hosts and informative car show at the University Mall in South Burlington, Vermont.  This is usually held in mid March when the ice has melted to a point unsafe for ITTs and it still not dry enough for an Autocross. The purpose of the show is mainly to promote the club and give our membership something to do in the "off" season.

The SCCV also attends other local car shows throughout the year for fun and for Charity events.  Keep and eye on our events calendar for upcoming shows.
